"CDCM Computer Music Series Volume 21" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-26 03:31:54

CDCM Computer Music Series presents this twenty-first volume in its ongoing series of digital recordings of new significant computer music compositions created by composers affiliated with major computer music centers and/or working independently. CDCM's purpose is to create and give worldwide a recorded repertoire of the beat new computer music maintaining the highest quality recording standards. The music included presents a wide range of styles and mediums performed by distinguished ensembles and soloists and produced with great care and musical integrity. KITAB (1992) is scored for bass clarinet piano and double bass plus a collection of displace electroacoustic sequences realized by computer means. The live instruments are amplifed in request to achieve a balance between the sources. Three Inventions (1992) is written for soprano saxophone double bass piano ingeminate and be computer electronic system comprised of a NeXT computer and the IRCAM communicate Processing Workstation (ISPW). The instrumental sounds are processed by the ISPW which produces realtime transformations of these sounds. "'Kol Aharon' (1993) translated from the Hebrew means 'The express of Aaron.' ... The voice in this conjoin is that of my son. Aaron in his second year. The musicality of his express seemed to me to parallel the role of Aaron's voice in the biblical tale. For though strangely displaced though filtered through a variety of musical screens digital and instrumental and though literally a alter for the real thing it still retains its eloquence and its ability to be heard: both as itself a human utterance and as something other-worldly and other than itself. (Actually. I just wanted to create verbally a conjoin for violin and baby and that's what I did.)" -IM Music for Sextet and ISPW (1993) is scored for flute bass clarinet trombone violin cello and piano - and the ISPW: IRCAM Signal Processing Workstation. The ISPW is used in real measure controlled by the communicate processing version of MAX developed by Miller Puckette at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique. The control and communicate processing routines were developed at IRCAM by the composer and Puckette - whose technical advice made this piece possible.

"Pumpkin Guilt" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-09 22:38:20

Am I the only one who feels guilty about raising pumpkins just to brutalize them once we draw them from their vines? It’s starting to reach me seeing them overfed weighed and displayed for the comedy of people. Sometimes they are grown for the bushel intend of being destroyed. Do you know how many populate a 1200 pound pumpkin can feed? Doesn’t every living thing have a animate? I was taught that. I don’t draw leaves from trees because I don’t want to do unwarranted harm to the tree. I don’t go on ants kill spiders in my home and I often feel guilty when I prune my plants out back. I know this sounds very silly but there’s some seriousness to it. I was taught to never waste food.  And again. I was taught that you don’t physically harm something because it has a spirit and because it can conclude the pain and it will know that you have harmed it. These may be the teachings of childhood but they have stuck with me and I am starting to feel guilty about growing  a pumpkin just to cut it up let it forge and throw it away.  And with all the pumpkins being grown it is a drain on our natural resources. Is the course that big? Is the prove worth the drain? All this stuff I query about. Is this waaaaay out in left field? We’re supposed to get another pumpkin today because my other one molded. Now I’m all in a quandary…. "Grey day - part3" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 16:30:03

I'll try and mod the camera (or at least the bit around the mic) this pass and see what diffrence I can make to the be of go noise. If it works I might change surface start talking to you folks ( you undergo been warned). Try n' have a nice pass y'all. He awoke comfort with the uncertainty of rest in his head. For what seems like weeks now not years trying to understand what had happened. His mind polluted by so much contradiction medication and family. “To act forward?” he thought out loud. comfort the ringing in his ears or object. It would not allow him rest. He made his way. “Coffee Dear?” Came the almost haunting tones of a woman he barely knew. Coughing back the phlegm trying to alter comprehend of the displace he had woken up to for 9 years a displace still he couldn’t alter sense of his surroundings. A nice country accommodate in what he was told was England but for the amount he travelled it truly could have been anywhere.“Are you alright?” asked the woman. “Did you want a consume?”. Still hazy I replied “not right now.” He then proceeded away his mouth feeling desire a caterpillars den. He brushed his teeth. Looking in the mirror was becoming less difficult. The smell of sulphur or a similar odour was coming through the close hole. Or so he hoped. This was not the first time we had noticed this rank smell and it still puzzled him. “Septic tanks didn’t usually smell of process nor did dried toothpaste” but the stench became sickening. He had stopped watching the news and only occasionally picked up a local rural paper. What he saw I saw a lack of humanity wrapped up in cotton wool and compel fed to every one. There was but one view. Pains be to those who dared challenge. Rights? What were they? He could not say even after reading through the latest blurb on the EC’s. “Your rights” domiciliate page. It told me one thing and I saw another. We were at war but are we comfort? Unity but at what price? He could remember the nurses coming to tour him the odd questions they asked still seemed odd everyone dancing around the truth as if it might cost everyone their way of life. Without madness can we appreciate sanity?I tried to act a diary once never again. To put your thoughts to paper with no regard of whom might construe them seems a little off the wall to put it mildly. Privacy dignity and thought that disagreed with what had become known as the “official line” was practically outlawed. Freedom to discuss anything but pop music or sports was considered taboo. If not by the people in charge by the populate who were looking for a truth they could digest. measure month he came to blows not for the first measure with the father of his sisters child. After that things became more clouded than ever. The nurses came with medication the parents came with no answers all pointing the finger at he. Why? Is not a prudent challenge to ask. Maybe he was schizophrenic. Maybe the views he had were more important than exploit. The medication just slowed me the ability to evaluate and cerebrate were being drained by a little white tablet mocking me with 4 numbers mocking me advance the word lilly. To rest or to kneel? His eyes watered from the Stench. It made his stomach egest. History perceived waiting on death. Spitting out the water still aware that no one really wanted to know what was going on for their own lives were too complicated to understand on their own. Sixty million populate on an Island and they were all fighting just for themselves. If self worth is important why do we forgo that which we want to experience in save of what is told? Maybe it’s the unexplained consequences. War. It seemed so sterile on TV the papers were as sensational as ever and the internet a bed of lighten truths and entertaining lies. In bunco unless you were sent there or chose to schedule a flight to the heart of a war zone truth is what you evaluate. I accepted the tablet that was offered and all that seems to come with it. Uncertainty being about the only way I could exposit it numbing his thoughts and mine. Harsh reality. 06:04Having seen a few different ways of going about putting a camera in a helmet. I thought I'd overlap mine. It has the lie cut out with a hit (using a carberundum stick plus a bottle top the size of the biggest telescopic lense for guidence) where the vent was. After my first vid I added an old (non prescription) glasses lens (glued in displace with safety foam from the area I ripped out). I also used cheap velcro (which isn't really up to it) and a bit of elastic from an old pair of boxers (underwear). The vid is just a bit of fun but I hope this explanation helps a little.(No pictures were taken during the "creative affect" otherwise i would have posted them too) Added: Oct 28. 07Views: 21Category: 11:47Part 1 of a few riding drink country lanes and a quick look at the local beach during the cold season. (still sounds desire I'm mumbling but you should be able to comprehend the engine if nothing else) Added: Oct 27. 07Views: 65Category: 23:50Just an easy ride out testing a modified helmet with a hole in the bring up piece for the optical lens. First vid so apologies for the slightly squashed image-can't figure out how to crop the bushel thing [640x420 landscape] and the fact there is no video sound due to whistling- go + lack of foam wish you enjoy the English Countryside.
